
The question is whether it helps YOU lose weight. I don't do the Bikram practice so it has no effect on me whatsoever. Eating right and increasing activity can lead to an adjustment to appropriate body weight. For some that may be loss, for others, gain.
If you are already eating properly (in terms of calories for your body and activity as well as distribution of fats, proteins, and carbs) then jumping around for 90 minutes in a sauna will probably she some pounds.
