Since school has started I have been struggling with getting back into my workouts. I can’t make it to my morning workouts because I wake up at 5:45 just to get ready, as it is. I was having trouble making it to after school workouts because I was starving when 4:30 hit, and by the time I ate a snack, I became unmotivated and too lazy to go to the gym.
Now that I’ve joined WW and stopped the Medifast shakes, I’m no longer starving when I get home from school. The food I’ve been packing in my lunches is healthy, but it’s also very satisfying. Much more filling than the shakes were. So much so that I know I can go workout after school and still have plenty of energy left.
Last night was a sort of turning point for me. DRMK mentioned that she and her hubby were going to go to the gym around 7pm. Since her hubby has a whole group of friends he works out with, she said they’d be there until at least 9pm. So I got there around 8pm and worked out HARD. I did 15 minutes of moderate walking on the treadmill, and then moved to the elliptical machine to do 33 minutes of intense exercise. And then DRMK and I did some ab work. I earned 9 Activity Points in that hour and a half, and felt great.
This morning I have that wonderful sore muscle feeling that tells you you’ve moved your body. I love it! DRMK and I have plans to go workout this afternoon at the gym location that I normally go to. I’m so glad that she’s going to join the gym now. It’s always more fun when you know you have someone who you can meet up with. Although, it’s funny. Once I get on the cardio machines, all I want to do is put on my headphones and tune the rest of the world out. I get into a serious zone and push myself as hard as I can.
So, I think I’ve finally broken out of my no-workout rut. I couldn’t be happier!

On a side note, I was supposed to go to WW this morning since I missed my normal meeting on Sunday, but woke up too late to make it to the meeting on time. That sounds like a lame excuse, I know, especially because there are a million WW meetings I can go to. The thing is, I’d rather wait for my Sunday meeting. I don’t want to weigh in today and then weigh in 5 days later on Sunday. I’d rather just wait for this Sunday and see the results of 2 weeks.
