Today is the last day of the
Summer of Me hosted by Christie. My goal was to lose 5 pounds.
Unfortunately I didn't meet that goal. We spent the first two weeks of the "Summer of Me" in Florida where I gained 3 pounds. So I spent the last few weeks trying to lose those 3 pounds and as of last week, I did. Now that left me with this past week to lose 5 pounds (please, I'd have to starve myself to do that and that my friends is NOT an option). But I did lose 2 pounds this week. So technically I did lose 5 pounds, but unfortunately 3 of those were pounds I put back on from the spring challenge.
But I'm pretty happy with how things are going! I love WeightWatchers.com and in the fall I plan on picking up meetings again. I'm eating healthier. I'm exercising regularly and I'm more aware of what I'm eating and how it is affecting me. So to me, that's all a good thing! And that makes me down 7 pounds since spring, and in light of all the hormone issues I've been having, I'LL TAKE IT!
Here's my story: I've always had weight issues. That's just me. But in my 20's things, seemed to even out and I was ok with how I looked (never totally satisfied, but OK). I've never been "thin", but I've been "thinner". Then I got pregnant with Older Boy and gained, oh I don't know, say enough weight to give birth to a baby elephant (I can't tell you how much because like the CIA, if I tell you, I'd have to kill you). It was bad enough BEFORE the baby was born, but afterwards was hideously horrendous. So when I got the green light from my doc, I grabbed my old Weight Watcher books and started dieting. I wouldn't go to meetings because I was so embarrassed by how I looked (how crazy is that?) but I plugged away. And I made Hubby use our tax refund that year to buy a treadmill so that I could work out and I walked 30-50 minutes 6 days a week and it took me a little over a whole year to lose that weight, but I did it. All but 10 pounds and that's what I'm struggling with. 5 pounds I just "gained" and the 10 pounds that never came off (the Little Man came along before I could lose that weight).
I'm an experienced "dieter". I've done it more years than not. But I need to be an experienced "healthy lifestyler". And that I'm still working on. So even though the
Summer of Meis over, I'm not done. I'm still going to work on that weight and then I'm going to work on maintaining it. And that may just be the hardest part of all.

Hubby, Older Boy (just under 2 months old), and Super Sized Momma

Boys with Momma today (there's still work to be done)
Thanks
