I never was, and seriously doubt that I ever will be a camper. I believe hotels are built in strategic places all over the world just so you do not have to camp. Bookie on the other hand would happily sleep in a sleeping bag every night if he could. I tagged along with Bookie and his friend Didi last year to West Virginia where the were going to go white water rafting on some river that apparently is really wild and exciting if you are in to that stuff. The thought was that I was going to check myself into a nice spa during the time as they slept in Didi’s new Northface superduper tent. I was preggers, felt like crap and needed some massages etc. When we got to our destination, I think it was called Summerville, WV, after having driven the whole day (Auburn Hills, MI - Summerville, WV) I asked at the hotel I checked in for the first night if there was a spa in the area. The woman behind the front desk called her colleague over and told her what I had asked. They both started laughing and told me “Sweetheart, this is Summerville, WV, there ain’t no spas around here”. Turned out the closes spa was about 3.5 hours away. So instead I spent my weekend at the local Wal-Mart (where I guess you have to wear camoflage clothing), puking in the hotel (pregnancy), playing Gameboy (I love that thing) and watching TV.
ANYWAYS, what I wanted to get to is that I signed our family up for camp! Yep, you heard it right. We are off to camp! Hopefully, there were limited spaces, I will know by December if we got in. But if we do, we will spend a week in Leksand in Sweden. The camp is focusing on signing for children with DS ages 0-2. I am excited, I just hope I don’t have to sleep in a sleeping bag…
