The mother of sons

Posted Nov 07 08 3:55pm
It's not easy being a mother of sons. Or maybe it's just not easy being the mother of MY sons. Either way, it's tough to be me. My boys fight. ALL.THE.TIME. Sometimes it seems like they are fighting to the death. I referee and punish and discipline (and I'm currently reading a few books and tune into Super Nanny every Friday), but they are a tough crowd.
Older Boy was off of school yesterday and today due to teacher conferences. Yesterday was mostly running around/errand day but I thought that today I really needed to find something to occupy them or we may have a civil war on our hands.
After the Little Mans gym class, I took them to Burger King for lunch and then to a local park for some fun and education. Any time I disguise education as "secret fun surprise" I do it. To get in is free and they had a wonderful exhibit about animals of the night. There were also some environmentally friendly lessons and just all around cool stuff (the glowing fungus was my favorite). I was hoping to walk around the outside of the park after we went through the exhibit but it was raining when we left.
So I opted for the video store instead. If you can't keep them busy outside, keep them zombies in front of the tube. Well we made it through one movie and they are upstairs in their rooms due to fighting. I better check to make sure I know what time Super Nanny comes on tonight. There's wailing and gnashing of teeth coming from the upstairs right now. Calgon, take me away.....

These are bad because they came from my phone but they are too funny:
